For a quick introduction before we get to the good stuff! Retaining the Millennial generation and younger in the 731 is at the core of our mission, and “731Alum” is our new platform to feature young talent in the region. We will kick off the platform with a series entitled “Welcoming Our Neighbors Back Home”, where we will feature young individuals who moved away, but ultimately decided to return home to pursue their careers and raise their families. First up, two of our personal favorites – Cory and Anna Davis.
Performance Chiropractic may be new to the 731, but for owner Cory Davis, his West Tennessee roots run deep. Cory was born and raised in Martin, Tennessee and after graduating from Westview, he attended The University of Tennessee at Martin, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He moved to St Louis, Missouri to continue his education at Logan University. He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic, along with a Masters of Sports Science and Rehabilitation.
Upon the completion of his formal education, Cory practiced in Memphis and Middle Tennessee. There, he met his wife, Anna, who also grew up in the 731 area and graduated from UTM as well. The commonality of their roots stimulated conversations of moving “home”. While they considered a few towns in the 731 area, they decided to make their dreams into reality by moving back to Martin. One of Cory’s favorite memories growing up was spending countless hours “sliding down the hill” during Westview and UTM games, and Cory and Anna ultimately decided on Martin because they believe it is a great place to live and raise a family. “The biggest benefit we saw was quality of life,” highlights Cory. Community activities, such as having a relationship with neighbors and the warm and welcoming small-town life, were important factors to Cory and Anna. “One of Martin’s greatest strengths is the community feel in which it possesses”. Cory believes Martin possesses a desire for growth that provides a tremendous opportunity for business owners. Being a graduate of UTM, Cory makes it a priority to foster a relationship with the university. “Having UTM in your backyard is a resource that most towns can’t replicate. It’s invaluable.” Cory goes above and beyond to give back to the community, providing services to athletes to ensure they can put their best bodies on the field. “One stereotype about small towns is that they tend to get stuck in a rut, but that’s the farthest thing from the truth about this region. 731 is actively choosing to implement and blend some of the benefits and draws of the big city with the charm of small-town life.”
Cory refers to himself as a problem solver. Pursuing a career in the medical field allows him to work with the public, as well as being on the diagnostic side of being a clinician. Being able to help someone while simultaneously solving a problem is his passion. “Helping someone rid themselves of pain and get back to a normal lifestyle is what this is all about.” At Performance Chiropractic you will receive top notch service because finding the root of the problem is the primary goal for Cory. “Bones being out of place is not a sufficient diagnosis or answer to their pain. Simply put, this is not accurate, and bones just don’t fall out of place” says Cory. Upon your visit, you will receive a thorough examination consisting of orthopedic test and movement analysis to receive a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan.
We are so excited to welcome Cory, Anna, and the Performance Chiropractic Team to the 731. Visit them at 116 Masonic Drive, Martin, TN 38237!
